Andrew Kovalev is a portrait photographer from Saint Petersburg, Russia, whose work has been featured in Le Monde, Esquire, Der Spiegel, The Sunday Times, Forbes and many other international newspapers and magazines. Two years ago he came to Georgia on a photo assignment and has lived here since, actively pursuing his personal work about the region.
In his open lecture Andrew looks into a few subjects crucial for a photographer.
– How to plan a complex photoshoot: the workflow from idea to postproduction
– Preproduction and working on set: location scouting, casting, set design, working with stylists, directing models
– About magazine photography: genre specifics, getting to photo editors, working on assignments
– Self promotion: newsletters, websites and social networks
All told through a series of in-depth, first hand, reasonably funny real life case studies and accompanied by a colorful presentation.
The lecture is free, but you have to pre-register.
