Since 1993 many of the sanatorium complexes in Tskaltubo, once a famous Georgian Spa resort, have been closed down as IDPs from the ethnic conflict in Abkhazia were in need of housing.
Ian McNaught Davis is a South African freelance photographer currently based in Tbilisi, Georgia. His works have been featured on; BBC News, GQ, OZY, HUCK Magazine and Men’s Health, and exhibited in galleries in London, Rome, Bologna, Cape Town, Tbilisi and Kathmandu. Ian is currently working on a long-term project about masculinity in Georgia, while taking assignments for Chai Khana.
