Giorgi Tsagareli’s documentary work has provided a visual record of Georgia’s challenging post-Soviet transition. This print is from Tbilisi taken in 1990, when protests were threatening to topple the Soviet regime. We are very much in debt to Tsagareli for his tireless effort, which resulted in the definitive photographic history of the time.
