“In 2000, a family lived in that ruined house near Narikala fortress. The house had just 3 walls and there was still no way to restore it. Today, this place is considered a tourist center and everything is decoratively arranged.”

About the Artist

Guram Tsibakhashvili is one of Georgia’s most important documentary and street photographers. His work spans several decades and has been published and exhibited widely. Guram’s street photography from the 1980’s and 1990’s has provided us with the definitive record of a city in transformation.
