“This photograph was taken in March 1995 near the church between Martkopi and Akhalsopeli. Locals call this place “Aparani”. We were attending a burial and the cars could not get to the end of hill so people were walking to the church. Inspired by this photo, Greek theater director Michael Marmarinos wrote the script “National Hymn” and directed an interactive play in Greece and in Georgia too.” – Guram Tsibakhashvili
