Dictatorship of Ideals allegorically portrays the essence of life under an authoritarian regime, where ideology trumps human beings and the lives they live. Dictatorship of Ideals is an ongoing series by Georgian conceptual photographer, Irma Sharikadze. Nina Gogua, the principal dancer for the Tbilisi Ballet is featured in this print. The edition comes framed in a striking 3cm black frame with the print recessed 2cm behind glare resistant glass. It is beautifully paired with other editions from the series when purchased as a set.
About the Artist
Irma Sharikadze is a Georgian conceptual photographer and designer based in Tbilisi. Her most recent exhibition named “Letters” was dedicated to Frida Kahlo, the Mexican Artist was held at the GMG Gallery in Moscow 2010, in St Petersburg Museum of Contemporary Art Erarta 2013 and Contemporary Art cent M17 in Kiev 2015.
